At AIDDN, we remain committed to advancing inclusion and protecting the rights of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers.
As part of our ongoing advocacy efforts, we paid strategic visits to the Commissioner of the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development and the General Manager of the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs to strengthen collaboration, promote inclusive policies, and support the effective adoption and implementation of the IDD Policy in Lagos State. We also used these engagements to follow up on key commitments and explore practical pathways for translating the policy into actionable programs that will directly benefit persons with IDD and their families.
These engagements are key steps toward influencing systems that ensure access to quality services, protection, and opportunities for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They also reinforce the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in addressing existing gaps and improving service delivery across the disability inclusion ecosystem.
Our mission is to create a society where the fundamental human rights of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers are promoted and protected. Our vision is an inclusive society where persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities live better lives and achieve their full potential.
Together, we are building a more inclusive society where no one is left behind through sustained advocacy, partnership, and accountability-driven action.
