At AIDDN, we remain committed to empowering persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities through capacity building and advocacy.<\/p>\n
As part of this commitment, we successfully conducted a two-day virtual Advocacy Workshop focused on building confidence, strengthening communication skills, and promoting self-advocacy among youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
\nDuring the sessions, participants were equipped with practical knowledge on effective communication, public speaking, and digital advocacy. They learned how to express themselves confidently, communicate their needs, speak up against injustice, and use their voices to create positive change.<\/p>\n
Through interactive discussions, practice sessions, and real-life examples, participants demonstrated significant growth in confidence and understanding. They also explored the use of digital tools and platforms to amplify their voices and share their advocacy messages with a wider audience.<\/p>\n
The workshop reinforced a powerful message: every voice matters. With confidence, persistence, and the right skills, persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities can advocate for their rights and influence positive change in society.
\nTogether, we are raising confident self-advocates and building an inclusive society where everyone is heard, valued, and empowered.<\/p>\n
